Hello from your Social Security Public Affairs Team.  We hope you and yours are doing well during this difficult time.

A few things we wanted to make sure you are aware of:

§  All local Social Security offices are closed to the public for in-person service as of Tuesday, 3/17/2020 due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.  However, we are still able to provide critical services.

§  Although each local office is closed for in-person service, we are teleworking and continue to process benefits and applications.  The online locator tool www.socialsecurity.gov/locator includes a phone number for the local office for those who may be in a dire need situation.  And our 800# also continues national service and can get messages to local office staff – 800-772-1213, 7am to 7pm weekdays.

§  You can get the latest Social Security news at  https://www.ssa.gov/coronavirus/  and  https://blog.ssa.gov/ .

§  Please see our updated Webinars for Professionals for April 2020 – we conduct these sessions locally, and have some repeats (by popular demand) and some new topics that we think are helpful in your professional life.  And feel free to share our Public Webinar flyer with your clients and family – we have a public disability session coming up on Monday 3/30, there is still time to register.

We remain committed to serving you and our public during the hard times.  You are welcome to reach out if you need us, please stay safe and hang in there.
